RE Intent Statement
The aim of the Religious Education curriculum at Waulud Primary is to help children to acquire and develop knowledge and understanding of Christianity and the other
principal religions represented in modern multicultural Britain and globally. Our enquiry based approach promotes curiosity of different beliefs and helps to develop an appreciation of the way religious beliefs shape our lives and our behaviour.
Children will develop the ability to make reasoned and informed judgements about
religious and moral issues and enhance their spiritual, moral, social and cultural
development. We aim to promote respect and open-mindedness and tolerance
towards others with different faiths and beliefs and encourage pupils to develop their own sense of identity and belonging through self-awareness and reflection.
Real life experiences for all of our children complement our curriculum and celebrate the diversity and opportunities within our local community.
Parents have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of RE. Please communicate with the Headteacher in the first instance.
