Science Intent Statement

At Waulud Primary School we believe that Science provides the children with
opportunities to develop their understanding of the world around them. Through
practical experiences and exploration, children will develop their curiosity and sense
of awe and become excited and enthusiastic learners.

Children are immersed in scientific vocabulary and first hand experiences which aids their knowledge and understanding not only of the topic they are studying but of the world around them. Through scientific enquiry, children develop their ideas and ways of working which enables them to make sense of the world in which they live.

Throughout their learning, they will become aware of the inspirational work of
scientists and the impact of their work on life today.
