SMSC Intent Statement

At Waulud Primary School, Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) learning is
embedded across the whole curriculum and is inclusive for all.

In order to celebrate our diverse community, our curriculum reflects and embraces a
wide range of cultural influences. We believe all children can develop the skills of
responsible citizens and make a positive contribution to the school and wider
community. We want our children to develop the wisdom to make social, moral and
ethical decisions with reflection, empathy and intelligence.

SMSC is also promoted through planned experiences and visits to enrich children’s
understanding and encourage them to be socially and morally responsible. Children
aspire to be the best they can be, are prepared for the future and have a strong
commitment to succeed.

Our SMSC curriculum is underpinned by our PRIDE shared values (Pride, Respect,
Include, Determined and Encourage) and British Values.
