Design Technology
Design and Technology Intent statement
The DT curriculum at Waulud aims to allow pupils to use their imagination and creativity to design and make a range of products within a variety of contexts and for real life purposes.
DT will be taught through cross curricular links where possible and pupils will acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art.
Throughout their time at Waulud, our pupils will learn how to take risks, be resourceful and innovative while developing skills and working with a range of materials and resources. Lessons will be engaging and hands on and pupils will be given the opportunity to critique and evaluate their ideas and products as well as those of others.
Pupils will be inspired to be (to think like) engineers, scientists, mathematicians, architects, designers and chefs as they develop the creative, technical and practical expertise needed to design and make of high quality prototypes.
