Your Welcome to Waulud Primary School

We hope this information will help you as you start your learning journey at Waulud Primary.

All children should be ready for a prompt start:

All pupils have a morning break in addition to the lunch break.

The school day ends at 3:20pm for all year groups (except Nursery which ends at 3:30pm)

* Friday is the only school day that ends at 1:40pm for all year groups (except Nursery which ends at 3:30pm)

Breakfast Club

We run a breakfast club from Monday-Friday 7.40am at a cost of £2.00 per session.  The children have a choice of breakfast items and can engage in a range of supervised activities until the school day begins.  Please contact the office for further details.

After School Club

We run an after school club from Monday-Thursday ONLY. 3:30pm-4:30pm, costs £3.50 or 3:30pm-5pm costs £5.00. If you are interested in this service, please contact the office for a registration and booking form.

School Meals

Every lunchtime at Waulud children can enjoy a hot meal which is freshly prepared on the premises. There is a varied menu with a choice of main courses, including a vegetarian option, salad and dessert.

In April 2022, the school decided to take over the running and provision of school dinners for the children.  The school has a dedicated team who designs appetizing menus, using locally sourced food, where possible.  Vegetarian and meat meals are provided daily and a ‘fun’ lunch is provided on a Friday

Lunch money can be paid online through your Teachers2Parents App or School Money direct.

School Uniform

We insist on all our pupils to wear school uniform, so as to develop a sense of pride in being a member of the Waulud school community.  Our current provider is JS Sport, Neville Road, Luton  http://www.myuniformshop.co.uk/

Headscarves, must be plain in school colours – blue, white, grey/black.

• Sensible black shoes are part of our school uniform

• All pupils will need a pair of black shorts or black leggings or tracksuit bottoms a white t-shirt, a black hoodie or zipped hoodie with school logo
• trainers for P.E.

All pupils are provided with a school book bag on admission.

It is vital that all uniform is named.

Jewellery

Jewellery, apart from small stud earrings, should not be worn to school.  Earrings cannot be worn for PE so please ensure that they are not worn on PE days.

Personal Belongings

Children do not need to bring personal belongings into school and staff cannot be held responsible for them.

Attendance

Coming to school punctually every day is vital to maximise learning and achievement.  If your child is genuinely unable to come to school, please call the school before 9am to let us know.  If we have not heard from you then you will receive a phone call from the school.

Staying in Touch

In case of emergency it is vital that we always have all your up to date telephone numbers. You can either report any changes in contact details to the office or directly to your child’s class teacher.
