The School Day
In Reception and KS1 classrooms open at 8.50am, ready for a prompt start at 9.00am. Pupils in KS2 should be on the playground ready for when the doors open at 8.40am, ready for a prompt start at 8.50am.
All pupils have a morning break in addition to the lunch break.
The school day ends at 3.15pm for pupils in Reception and KS1 and 3.20pm for pupils in KS2.
Every lunchtime at Waulud children can enjoy a hot meal which is freshly prepared on the premises. There is a varied menu with a choice of main courses, including a vegetarian option, salad and pudding. It is also permissible to bring a packed lunch to school.
Dinner money is payable in advance by either cash or cheque, (payable to Luton Borough Council)
Payments should be in an envelope, clearly marked with your child’s name, class and what the payment is for.
Dinner money for KS2 – £1.90 per day = £9.50 Per Week.

We encourage all our pupils to wear school uniform, so as to develop a sense of pride in being a member of the school community.

All pupils will need a pair of black shorts or suitable leggings, a white t-shirt and a change of footwear – plimsolls or trainers for PE.
All pupils are provided with a school book bag on admission. It is vital that all uniform is named.
Jewellery, apart from small stud earrings, should not be worn to school. Earrings cannot be worn for PE so please ensure that they are not worn on PE days.
Children do not need to bring personal belongings into school and staff cannot be held responsible for them.
Coming to school punctually every day is vital to maximise learning and achievement. If your child is genuinely unable to come to school, please call the school before 10.00am to let us know. If we have not heard from you then you will receive a phone call from the school.

In case of emergency it is vital that we always have your up to date telephone numbers. You can either report any changes in contact details to the office or directly to your child’s class teacher.
